This policy explains what personal information Λffect collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. Λffect is operated by Affect, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean that business.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, a password, and optionally a display name and profile picture. Passwords are stored in hashed form, so we cannot read them.
- Sign-in with Google. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us.
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, your email address and whatever you write.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider logs basic request data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
- Connected ad accounts. If you connect an advertising account such as Meta, Google Ads or TikTok, the platform gives us your name and user ID on that platform, the list of ad accounts you can use, and an access token that lets Λffect work with those ad accounts for you. We store the token in encrypted form.
- Usage statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count visits, see which pages are used and measure how fast they load. Neither uses cookies, and neither identifies you or follows you across other websites.
- Cookies. We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. See the Cookie Policy.
We do not currently collect payment information. Paid plans are not open yet. When they open, payments will be handled by a payment processor and we will update this policy first.
How we use it
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To keep accounts secure and prevent abuse.
- To send you emails that the service needs, such as confirming your address or resetting your password.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To tell you about important changes to Λffect, such as new features opening. If we send news or marketing email, you can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We use a few service providers to run Λffect. They process personal information on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
- Supabase, for our database and sign-in system.
- Vercel, for hosting the website and for usage statistics.
- Purelymail, for sending and receiving email.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Meta, only if you choose to connect a Meta advertising account.
- Google Ads, only if you choose to connect a Google Ads account for YouTube advertising.
- TikTok, only if you choose to connect a TikTok advertising account.
These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it and how to delete it
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page, or by emailing us. When you do, we remove your personal information from our active systems. Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire.
You can disconnect an advertising account at any time from your Dashboard. When you do, we delete the stored access token and ask the platform to withdraw the access it gave us. Deleting your Λffect account removes your connections as well. To have your data deleted without signing in, email support@affectmrktng.com.
Your choices and rights
- You can see and change your account details on your Profile page.
- You can delete your account.
- You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our using it. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide your account.
To make a request, email support@affectmrktng.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local law.
Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections, hashed passwords and optional two-step sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Age
Λffect is for people who are at least 18, or the age of majority where they live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger.
Changes to this policy
Λffect is in development, and this policy will change as features are released. When we make a change that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
